Mumbai is one of the largest metropolitan cities of India with a population of over 12 million people. The main languages spoken in Mumbai are Marathi, Hindi and English. Mumbai has a variety of sights and views for everyone and openly welcomes tourists and travelers from all over the globe. A few of the interesting tourist spots are mentioned below.

 

Chatrapati Shivaji terminus also known as Victoria terminus is famous for its architectural buildings. These buildings were made in the British era and are absolutely gorgeous.

 

Flora fountain is a historical stone fountain situated in South Mumbai. This splendid fountain was built in 1864 and it depicts the Roman goddess Flora. This fountain is surrounded by historical buildings, made during the British era. The flora fountain is defiantly worth visiting if you are in Mumbai.

 

The Haji Ali Dargah is a mosque and tomb located in Worli. This mosque is one of the most recognized landmarks of the city. This Dargah is built on a tiny islet and is surrounded by the sea during high tides, and it is only accessible during low tides. The view from the Dragah is absolutely stunning.

 

Mahalaxmi Racecourse is a horse racing ground located in Mahalaxmi. This ground covers approximately 325 acres of land and is oval in shape. The horse racing season starts in November and ends in April and a lot of celebrities visit the race course during the racing season.

 

Juhu beach is the most famous beach in the city of Mumbai.  The beach is a home for a lot of vendors that sell handmade children’s toys, sea shell ornaments and ladies that apply Mehendi. Monkeys performing for money and some food are a common site in Juhu beach. Juhu beach is also famous for its street food like bhel puri, chat, pav bhaji and samosas. Gandhi gram is located at the North end of Juhu beach. Mahatma Gandhi would live here when he would practice law in the Mumbai high court.

 

Chor Bazaar is a market located near South Mumbai famous for its second hand goods. This is one of the most recognized tourist spots in Mumbai. It is possible to find anything here at cheap rates. However a lot of fake brands are available here, so be careful while buying anything.

 

Crawford market is a famous market in South Mumbai. This market houses vegetable vendors, fruit vendors and also has a section for animals and animal products. The price of products is really competitive in this market and it is possible to strike some great deals here.
