remaking TV shows and movies
59Recreating a TV show or a movie in my opinion is an easy way to cash in money by making people nostalgic and is not at all creative. Old TV shows and movies have a charm and are made in a way that the modern day's producers and directors can never recreate. The look and feel of oldTV shows and movies can never be created neither can the fantastic acting of the olden days actors be duplicated. TV shows of the 20th and 21st century are created in a way to appeal to the present generation and remaking an old TV show or movie would be a disaster. In my opinion old TV shows and movies are best left alone and TV producers and film makers should concentrate on creating new scripts to suit the audience of the 21st Century. The present generation is very different from the previous generation and may not react well to recreated shows and prefer shows that they can relate to.
Beverly Hills 90210 was a fantastic show premiered on October 4th 1990 and casted outstanding actors and the show was nominated and won a number of awards including the 1993, Nominated, Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series-Drama, 1995, Nominated, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series and 1993, Won!, Favorite Young Ensemble Cast in a Television Series and many more. In the year 2008 directors J. Miller Tobin, Wendy Stanzler and Mark Piznarski attempted to recreate Beverley 90210 and the new series was named as 90210. Although the performance of the crew was good, the show was not as impressive as the original show.
The TV show full house was an old time classic created in 1987 and featured actors such as John Stamos , Dave Coulier and Lory Loughlin and was nominated for 19 awards and won 16 awards. In the year 2008 Full house was suppose to be remade but it wasn't done. I cannot imagine what the show would be like especially if the same actors would be used!
An instance of a movie being recreated would be the Don in India (Bollywood ). In the original movie the Don was the renowned Amitabh Bachan who was replaced with Shahrurk Khan and the movie script was changed to suit the present day's audience. The old Don was indeed far better than the remake created in 2006 and although the remake received appreciation, the old movie was still preferred.
